Nexans gets €9.5M high-speed train deal in China

French cable maker Nexans Tuesday said it has secured a EUR9.5 million contract to supply China'ss state-owned vehicle producer, CNR Corporation Ltd, with the cables required to develop the the high-speed trains that will enter in service between Beijing and Shanghai in 2011.

MAIN FACTS:

- The cables provided are manufactured at Nexans China's production facilities in Shanghai. The first batch of cables will be delivered in March 2010 and the last in March 2011.

- This contract is in addition to the first award from CNR on control, power and data cables that Nexans got in July 2009 for a value of EUR5 million on the same program.
