Gasgoo Munich-The next-generation Mercedes-Maybach S-Class launched on September 25, Gasgoo has learned. The new model is built on the Mercedes-Benz MB.OS architecture and features the latest intelligent human-machine interaction system. It marks the first application of an advanced intelligent driving assistance system in the ultra-luxury segment.
In terms of software, a rear-seat entertainment system developed by a Chinese team runs an on-device multimodal Vision Language Model (VLM). Cameras detect passenger states to recommend tailored content. The sedan features an urban and highway navigation assist system co-developed by Mercedes-Benz and Momenta. Future OTA updates will introduce the Momenta R7 world model, enabling park-to-park assisted driving.

The new Maybach measures 5,485 mm in length with a 3,396 mm wheelbase and features a classic vertical grille enlarged by 20% compared to its predecessor. The three-pointed star hood ornament, grille surround, and MAYBACH lettering now illuminate for the first time. For safety, the sedan introduces world-first heated front seatbelts. It is equipped with 15 airbags, including two additional rear seatbelt airbags and a front-facing rear airbag.
Three powertrains are available. The S 680 is powered by a V12 engine, the S 580 features a newly upgraded M177 Evo V8, and the S 480 uses an M256 Evo inline-six. The chassis features AIRMATIC air suspension, the E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL system, and active rear-axle steering with a steering angle of up to 10 degrees.
Customization options have expanded with the upgraded MANUFAKTUR program. A new Made to Measure offering provides over 150 paint colors and more than 400 interior combinations, adding options such as obsidian black metallic and matte green gravel silver. Additionally, the Maybach S 580 Night Series edition debuts with dark-themed exterior trim and exclusive blacked-out wheels.
