Gasgoo Munich-Nexteer Automotive Systems (Liuzhou) Co., Ltd. has officially inaugurated its new plant, according to industry reports. This move deepens Nexteer' s footprint in Liuzhou and marks a significant leap forward in smart manufacturing and supply chain coordination within China.

Nexteer has been cultivating its presence in Liuzhou since establishing operations there in 2015. To date, the Liuzhou base has produced more than 12 million steering system units. Spanning over 40,000 square meters, the newly opened facility features modern production lines, R&D laboratories, a test track, and a comprehensive employee center.
On the product front, the facility will focus on core components including column-type electric power steering (EPS) systems, manual steering gearboxes, motor controller modules, electronic controllers, motors, and associated parts.
As production and operations shift to the new site, Nexteer plans to leverage digital, automated, and lean operating models. The transition is expected to drive gains in production efficiency, product quality, and customer response speeds.
Notably, this is not a standalone facility. A supplier collaborative industrial park planned around the plant will foster tighter cooperation across the upstream and downstream supply chain. This integration aims to bolster resilience, improve local sourcing capabilities, and boost overall operational efficiency—ultimately forging a more competitive ecosystem for automotive components.
As the automotive industry accelerates its shift toward electrification, intelligence, and software-defined vehicles, Nexteer is positioning itself accordingly. The company says the new plant' s high-standard manufacturing platform and flexible production capabilities will allow it to scale up delivery of existing core products while paving the way for future technologies like Motion-by-Wire™. This strategy is designed to meet evolving customer demands for innovation.
Looking ahead, the Liuzhou facility will work in close coordination with Nexteer' s Asia-Pacific Technical Center in Suzhou and its global manufacturing network. By integrating local manufacturing strengths with global innovation resources, the company aims to continue delivering high-quality products and innovative solutions to its customers.
