Launched in late 2024, Firefly’s first model hit the domestic market on April 19, 2025, with deliveries starting ten days later. Initially, the brand rolled out two design-focused trims—the Freedom Edition and the Luminous Edition—priced at 119,800 yuan and 125,800 yuan respectively. Momentum has built steadily: Firefly hit 20,000 deliveries by September 2025 and crossed the 40,000 mark on January 12, 2026. The leap from 20,000 to 40,000 units took just over four months.
As NIO’s premium small car offering, Firefly stands out with its distinctive design and configuration. Measuring 4,003mm long, 1,781mm wide, and 1,557mm tall with a 2,615mm wheelbase, the exterior incorporates innovative biomimetic elements. Triple-ring LED clusters create a unique lighting signature, while a floating two-tone paint job and multi-spoke alloy wheels add a touch of refinement. Inside, the cabin balances practicality with flexibility: the front center armrest lifts to reveal storage, drawers sit beneath the cup holders, and a 50W wireless charging pad features an anti-slip groove. A magnetic anchor system also supports various storage accessories.
In terms of power and efficiency, the vehicle is equipped with a 42.1 kWh long-life battery, delivering a CLTC range of 420 km. Its drag coefficient of 0.287 Cd is the lowest in its segment. The self-developed six-in-one electric drive system boasts 90% comprehensive efficiency, with consumption sitting at just 10.9 kWh per 100 km—striking a balance between energy use and range.
