Gasgoo Munich- Gasgoo reported on April 23 that William Li, founder, chairman, and CEO of NIO, delivered the 100,000th new ES8. The vehicle was delivered to Jiang Zheyuan, founder and chairman of Beijing Songyan Power Technology Group Co., Ltd., at a ceremony held at the NIO House in Beijing Future Science City.
The new ES8 reached the 100,000-delivery milestone 215 days after its launch, setting a benchmark for premium models priced above 400,000 yuan in China's passenger vehicle market. Sales reached 16,255 units in March 2026, marking the fourth consecutive month the model ranked first in both the large SUV segment and the price range above 400,000 yuan. In Beijing, the new ES8 accounts for half of all large SUV sales.

Launched in September 2025, the new ES8 is equipped with intelligent driving hardware, including the Shenji NX9031 chip with over 1,000 TOPS of computing power, three LiDAR sensors, and 4D imaging radar. In terms of software, NIO's World Model (NWM) enables point-to-point autonomous navigation in various scenarios, including industrial parks, parking lots, urban streets, and charging stations.
The new ES8 features a dual-motor setup with a maximum output of 520 kW and uses a ternary lithium battery from CATL. It utilizes a 900V ultra-fast charging and swapping platform capable of reaching 925V. With NIO's third-generation smart platform, the vehicle supports a 5C charging rate, adding over 250 km of range in five minutes, or a battery swap within three minutes. Peak charging power reaches 600 kW, with a maximum current of 765 A.
