Under the memorandum, the partners will focus on rotary and linear actuators—the robotic equivalents of joints—to advance technology integration, system validation, prototyping, and commercialization. NSK will contribute its deep expertise in bearings, ball screws, and linear motion products from the automotive and industrial sectors, along with its mechatronics capabilities. Delta Electronics, for its part, brings high-performance servo drives, motor control, and power technology to the table. Together, their integrated actuator solution is expected to significantly boost power density and dynamic response, shortening deployment cycles for humanoid and collaborative robots in automotive welding, general assembly, and precision tasks.
To coordinate the implementation of its strategy, NSK established a Robotics Business Division in March 2026. The unit is building a vertically integrated system spanning core components to system integration, working with partners like RT Corporation to broaden its business reach.
This agreement with Delta Electronics represents a strategic milestone for NSK, marking its transition from a component vendor to a joint-solution provider as it doubles down on robotics as a key growth driver. As modular actuators move toward mass production, automotive assembly lines could soon see a new generation of robotic workstations that are both more cost-efficient and adaptable to space constraints.
