Gasgoo Munich-On April 1, Gasgoo learned that Xiaomi founder Lei Jun announced plans to launch a roughly five-hour livestream teardown on April 2 at 19:00. The event will dissect the new 2026 SU7 across every dimension, inviting technical experts to provide a deep analysis of core elements ranging from exterior finishes and interior details to body safety, chassis architecture, and the battery system.

Technical transparency is emerging as a new battleground in the new energy vehicle market. While traditional automakers typically rely on spec sheets and technical presentations to showcase product strength, Xiaomi is importing the "teardown-style" communication logic from its consumer electronics roots. By laying bare the vehicle's structure and core components, the company offers consumers a direct path to technical verification.

This approach dismantles the information barriers of traditional automotive marketing, driving a shift from selling on parameters to validating technology on actual vehicles. It gives consumers a tangible basis for judging core concerns like safety and battery reliability, offering the industry a new playbook for technical communication.

Xiaomi launched the new 2026 SU7 on March 19. The lineup includes three versions: the Standard edition at 219,900 yuan, the Pro at 249,900 yuan, and the Max at 303,900 yuan—each representing a 4,000 yuan increase over the first-generation SU7. The new generation secured 15,000 firm orders within 34 minutes of hitting the market.

As a core iteration for Xiaomi’s automotive division, the vehicle features comprehensive technical upgrades. On the powertrain front, the new model adopts a high-voltage platform across the board: the Standard and Pro editions feature a 752V silicon carbide architecture, while the Max edition upgrades to an 897V quasi-900V platform. All versions come standard with Xiaomi’s in-house V6s Plus super motor, spinning at up to 22,000 rpm with a system energy transfer efficiency of 94%, significantly boosting both charging speed and dynamic performance.

In intelligent driving, the new model comes standard with multi-dimensional perception hardware including LiDAR and 4D millimeter-wave radar. It carries an Nvidia Thor chip delivering 700 TOPS of computing power and runs the Xiaomi HAD end-to-end assisted driving system, marking an evolution in perception and decision-making capabilities. Simultaneously, the car sees optimizations in body structure, chassis tuning, and cabin interaction, with core features standardized across the lineup.

The upcoming livestream teardown will lay bare the technical nuances of the new SU7, offering the market a critical benchmark to verify the model's engineering prowess.
