Gasgoo Munich- Oritek Semiconductors and QNX, a BlackBerry business unit, announced on Oct. 28 that the QNX Software Development Platform (SDP) 8.0 has been ported to Oritek Semiconductors's Longquan 560 series SoC. The partnership will jointly supply foundational hardware and software solutions for China's advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) market.

The solution pairs QNX's safety-certified foundational software with Oritek Semiconductors's automotive-grade AI chip capabilities. It is already deployed in a forward-facing intelligent camera project at a major Chinese automaker — a milestone that signals the partnership has cleared technical validation and entered mass production.
As the auto industry accelerates into the software-defined era, vehicle E/E architectures are shifting toward a third-generation setup of central computing and zonal control. That migration is consolidating ADAS functions onto more powerful processors, raising the bar for real-time responsiveness, functional safety, and scalability. Pre-integrated platforms, industry observers note, can help automakers and Tier 1 suppliers trim integration work and shorten the leap from R&D to mass production.
Oritek Semiconductors has rolled out three chip families — Longquan, Gongbu, and Chunjun — with more than 10 chips in mass production and fitted to multiple Chinese passenger-car models. Looking ahead, products from the QNX partnership are slated for volume production in Europe next year.
The two companies plan to deepen their collaboration around China's next-generation vehicle architectures, offering a scalable technology foundation for automakers and Tier 1 suppliers. The goal: to push China's ADAS innovation from development into large-scale deployment.
