Gasgoo Munich- Gasgoo has learned that Pony.ai officially delivered over 100 units of its new GAC AION V Robotaxis equipped with the seventh-generation autonomous driving system to ONTIME on March 19. These vehicles have already been integrated into ONTIME's platform and are gradually rolling out operations.
Meanwhile, ONTIME and Pony.ai are deepening their strategic partnership to build a larger Robotaxi fleet and expand operations across a wider area. Under the new framework, Pony.ai will focus on the research and iteration of its "virtual driver" technology, monetizing through a usage-fee model; ONTIME, meanwhile, will assume responsibilities for fleet asset ownership, safety assurance, vehicle dispatch, and platform operations.

The partnership between Pony.ai and ONTIME has a long history. Since 2022, the two parties have established a strategic partnership and jointly launched regular Robotaxi operations in Guangzhou. Prior to this, the AION LX Plus—a Robotaxi model customized by Pony.ai for ONTIME and equipped with the sixth-generation autonomous driving hardware and software system—had passed Guangzhou's mixed traffic certification. Currently, the two have deployed scaled cooperative operations in multiple cities across the Greater Bay Area.
The newly delivered seventh-generation Robotaxi features 100% automotive-grade core autonomous driving components and a comprehensive multi-layer safety redundancy system. Yet, the total hardware kit cost has dropped 70% compared to the previous generation, while supporting flexible adaptation across multiple vehicle models and platforms. Furthermore, in terms of user experience, it integrates services such as Bluetooth unlocking, voice interaction, and online music streaming.
In addition to the GAC AION V Robotaxi, the mass-produced Bozhi 4X Robotaxi created through Pony.ai's collaboration with Toyota China and GAC Toyota is also equipped with this system and officially rolled off the production line this February.
In early March, Pony.ai announced that its seventh-generation Robotaxi achieved positive monthly unit profitability in Shenzhen in February 2026. It is reported that for that month, the average daily net income per vehicle for Pony.ai's seventh-generation Robotaxi reached 338 yuan, with an average of 23 orders per car per day. As of February 16, 2026, the volume of paid orders for Pony.ai's Robotaxi in Shenzhen had already surpassed the total for the entire year of 2025.
