Pony.ai Robotaxi integrates with Tencent Mobility Service

Edited by Betty From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- On March 13, Pony.ai announced that its Robotaxi service has integrated with the "Tencent Mobility Service" mini-program. Guangzhou is the first city to launch the feature, allowing local users to hail autonomous vehicles immediately via this channel. The service will also soon be available on the Tencent Maps app. This marks another significant milestone in the commercial deployment of Level 4 autonomous driving, following the strategic partnership agreement signed by both parties in April 2025.

Users can access the feature by searching for "Tencent Mobility Service" on WeChat or entering through the app's "Mobility Service" portal. When a Pony.ai designated pick-up point is available near the origin or destination, users can simply select the "autonomous driving" option to experience the service.

Since establishing operations in Guangzhou in 2017, Pony.ai has become a key driver in popularizing and advancing the city's autonomous mobility services.

Pony.ai was the first company to launch autonomous mobility services in Guangzhou's Nansha District. In early 2024, it pioneered dedicated routes connecting the city center to major transport hubs like Baiyun Airport and Guangzhou South Station. By December 2025, the company rolled out services in the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center, with daily orders per vehicle reaching 23.

Currently, Pony.ai operates driverless services across China's top-tier cities—Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen—with a fleet of over 1,000 autonomous vehicles. The company is building a comprehensive mobility ecosystem through deep partnerships with domestic and international allies. Domestic partners include platforms such as Tencent Cloud, Alipay, Amap, Xihu Taxi, Sunshine Travel, Ruqi Mobility, and Jinjiang Taxi. On the international front, Pony.ai is collaborating closely with global players like Stellantis, Uber, Bolt, Singapore's ComfortDelGro, and Luxembourg's Emile Weber to expand its global business footprint.
