Shanghai, March 1 (Gasgoo.com) Like many other global and local automakers, Porsche will introduce its entry-level V6-powered Panamera and Panamera 4 models at the 2010 Beijing auto show in April, media reported recently.
Porsche Panamera
The Panamera V6 is strictly rear-wheel drive while the Panamera 4 has all-wheel drive. Both will have Porsche's new seven-speed, double-clutch transmission with the snappy name of Doppelkupplungsgetriebe. While its looks are inherited from the V8 version of Panamera, the V6 is lighter than the V8 model.

Instead of the V-8 engine in the three iterations out now, the bottom-of-the-line Panamera and Panamera 4 have a new 3.6-liter V-6 engine with direct fuel injection, Porsche says. The engine will develop 300 horsepower.
Set to hit the roads sometime in May, the Panamera will cost $74,400 and the S version will go for $78,900. The pricing of V6 is competitive and is aimed at targeting the expansion of market size for Porsche vehicles.
This year, Porsche aims to sell over 10,000 cars in the Chinese market, its third biggest, after its China sales in 2009 reached 9,090 vehicles, up about 9%. China is expected to surpass Germany to become Porsche's second biggest market by 2012 with estimated sales of 16,000 units.
The week-long 2010 Beijing auto show, one of the two biggest biennial auto events in China (with the other in Shanghai), is slated to start on April 23. Key players in the global auto industry will display their new models at the show.
