The buying intentions of the Portuguese in 2007 have been found to be weak by the 2007 Cetelem Observatory enquiry. This enquiry indicates that purchasing a vehicle is not currently high on the list of priorities of the country’s population. Only 6% of those questioned declared that they were planning to buy a new car over the next few months. The study also indicates that the Portuguese car market should make steady progress up to 2010, when it should reach 230,000 units
