Gasgoo Munich-QNX, a business unit of BlackBerry Limited, and ORITEK, a Physical AI chip solutions provider, have completed the adaptation of QNX® Software Development Platform (SDP) 8.0 for ORITEK’s Longquan 560 series SoC platform, according to QNX. The integrated solution combines QNX’s safety-certified foundational software with ORITEK’s automotive-grade chips and is already being used in a forward-facing intelligent camera project for a major Chinese automaker.

Supporting the shift to software-defined vehicles
As automakers transition toward software-defined vehicles and next-generation E/E architectures, they face the challenge of improving functional safety, computing performance and scalability while managing costs and development complexity. The shift toward centralized computing and zonal architectures is also driving the integration of more vehicle functions into fewer, higher-performance processors.
ADAS applications, including object detection and collision avoidance, require substantial computing power as well as integrated platforms capable of delivering high-performance AI processing, deterministic system behavior, functional safety and reliable real-time performance.
Harry Yu, senior director of engineering for QNX Asia-Pacific, said the integration gives Chinese automakers a validated, safety-certified software foundation combined with advanced AI chip capabilities. He noted that the platform is designed to support automakers as they adopt next-generation E/E architectures and bring ADAS applications to market.
Wei Wei, vice president of ORITEK and general manager of its intelligent automotive business unit, said the company has launched three chip families — Longquan, Gongbu and Chunjun — covering more than 10 products. All have entered mass production and are used in multiple passenger vehicle models in China.
He added that the QNX partnership combines ORITEK’s chips with safety-certified software to provide production-ready solutions for next-generation ADAS and integrated monitoring systems. ORITEK also expects these products to enter mass production in Europe next year.
Supporting next-generation vehicle E/E architectures
ORITEK brings experience in automotive SoCs designed for third-generation E/E architectures, while QNX has decades of experience supporting automotive safety systems adopted by automakers worldwide.
The compatibility between QNX SDP 8.0 and ORITEK’s Longquan 560 platform allows automakers and Tier 1 suppliers to develop ADAS applications on a pre-integrated software and hardware foundation, reducing integration work and supporting the move toward mass production. The two companies are also supporting customer projects based on their combined technologies, with the aim of providing a scalable foundation for next-generation ADAS development in China.
