Gasgoo Munich- On May 27, RoboSense released its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, reporting strong growth across both its automotive and robotics businesses. Quarterly revenue reached approximately 459 million yuan, representing a 39.9% increase year-on-year, while total LiDAR shipments climbed to 330,300 units, up 204.1% from the same period last year.
LiDAR shipments for automotive ADAS applications totaled 144,800 units during the quarter, marking a 49.7% year-on-year surge. However, the company's most explosive growth came from robotics and related sectors, where LiDAR shipments soared 1,458.8% year on year to 185,500 units. For the first time, robotics-related products accounted for more than 56% of RoboSense's total shipments, underscoring the segment's emergence as the company's primary growth engine.

RoboSense reported an overall gross margin of 21.7% for the reporting period, slightly lower than the 23.5% recorded a year earlier. The company attributed the decline primarily to higher manufacturing costs associated with the early-stage mass production ramp-up of its next-generation EMX LiDAR products.
Despite the short-term margin pressure, management expressed confidence in the company's outlook for the remainder of the year. RoboSense expects growth to be supported by large-scale deliveries tied to upcoming vehicle launches, rising demand from robotics applications, ongoing cost reductions enabled by its in-house chip development, and improving factory utilization rates.
As of March 31, 2026, RoboSense had secured mass-production design wins covering 177 vehicle models from 36 automakers and Tier 1 suppliers. The company has already achieved SOP for 69 vehicle models involving 17 automakers and Tier 1 customers. In the ADAS segment alone, RoboSense said its current order backlog exceeds 9 million units.
In robotics and adjacent industries, RoboSense has established partnerships with nearly 50 leading humanoid and quadruped robotics companies, including Unitree Robotics, AgiBot, Galbot, ENGINEAI, and DOBOT. Multiple jointly developed products have already entered commercial deployment. The company also said it currently ranks first in shipment volume across several niche robotics categories, including robotic lawn mowers, autonomous delivery systems, and commercial cleaning robots.
