Users in Shenzhen are now able to hail a SAIC Motor Robotaxi via Xiangdao Chuxing's mobile application.
Building on the GVDP complete vehicle R&D process, the Robotaxis deployed in Shenzhen are manufactured by SAIC Motor’s Shanghai Lin-gang factory. The vehicles are China’s first Robotaxis to let an automaker lead its R&D and production, in order to ensure the autonomous vehicles’ uniformity and stability.
Working with SAIC AI LAB, Xiangdao Chuxing's Robotaxis adopt mass-produced sensors and solid-state LiDAR, featuring redundant perception capability with minimized blind spots. The reconstructed Robotaxi architecture is compatible with remote driving control system, laying out a solid technological foundation for SAIC Motor to operate its future driverless vehicle fleet.
In terms of regulatory decision-making, the Xiangdao Robotaxi 2.0 solution specially built a set of L4, L2++, L2 three-level functional degradation and arbitration system, achieving a seamless switching between the three autonomous driving levels.
Moreover, SAIC AI LAB and SAIL Cloud, SAIC Motor’s digitalization technology developer, jointly established a data factory. Via the unified management of vehicle-road-cloud data, the factory provides data development platform, simulation test platform, vehicle issue management platform, and business data tool chain, helping the automaker iterate its autonomous driving algorithms.
