In the commercial vehicle sector, overseas shipments hit 18,395 units in September — a 120% year-on-year surge that marked a new record. SAIC has solidified its position as China’s largest exporter of light commercial vehicles to Europe, with nearly 100,000 units now in service on the continent. Sales also gained traction in regional markets including Australia, Argentina, Singapore, and Egypt.

MG, the primary driver of passenger car exports, sold more than 280,000 units in Europe during the first three quarters — a 23% annual increase. In the UK, monthly sales hit 18,000 units in September, a new high for the brand, with electric models accounting for over 90% of the total. Meanwhile, MG’s market share in Poland climbed to 4.38% last month, placing it seventh among local passenger car brands.

In emerging markets, MG sales jumped 86% across 18 countries in Central America and the Caribbean. The company has leveraged a regional master distributor model to consolidate fragmented resources, while also showcasing a range of hybrid and pure electric models at the China Auto Expo in Buenos Aires.

Exports from joint ventures are expanding in tandem. SAIC Volkswagen shipped the first batch of Lamando L sedans to Mexico, extending its export footprint to North America for the first time, while the Buick Century E7 has already made its way to South Korea.
