Gasgoo Munich- SAIC Motor released its interim report on August 28, recording consolidated operating revenue of RMB 298.65 billion for the first half of 2026. Net profit attributable to shareholders reached RMB 5.15 billion, while core attributable net profit excluding foreign-exchange and impairment effects surged 72% year over year to RMB 7.87 billion.

During this period, gross margin increased by three percentage points to 12.6%, and net cash generated from operating activities climbed 158% to RMB 54.3 billion.
Amid intensifying industry competition and weaker domestic demand, SAIC Motor improved its profitability by adjusting its production and sales mix and tightening cost controls. The company also maintained strong cash flow during the reporting period.
Vehicle sales totaled 2.045 million units in the first half, with SAIC saying its growth rate outpaced the overall market by nearly four percentage points and kept it at the top of China's automotive market.
Alongside strengthening its position in established markets such as Europe and developing emerging markets in Central Asia and Africa, SAIC Motor continued to expand localized production overseas.
The automaker has established local component facilities to reduce manufacturing costs and improve delivery efficiency, while regional service centers provide after-sales support in overseas markets. The addition of new vessels, including the ANJI LUCK, has lifted SAIC Motor's annual ocean-shipping capacity above 600,000 vehicles, with routes serving major global markets.
SAIC has also established a captive insurance company and introduced dedicated financial service packages for overseas operations to improve financial support and risk management.
Notably, in May this year, SAIC Motor became the first Chinese automotive group to surpass 100 million vehicles in cumulative production and sales.
