The fund will prioritize key sectors such as solid-state batteries, full-stack electronic architecture, digital chassis, and domestic chip production, while also investing in frontier technologies like artificial intelligence, embodied intelligence, and computing chips.
SAIC Motor has made significant progress in solid-state batteries, a key focus area. On Nov. 21, 2025, the company stated on an investor interaction platform that its partner Qingtao Energy had fully connected its all-solid-state battery production line in Anting, Shanghai. According to the current roadmap, prototype vehicle testing will begin in 2026, with formal mass production and deliveries expected by 2027.
In December of that year, deliveries of the new MG4 Semi-Solid Anxin Edition officially began. The vehicle relies on a proprietary semi-solid battery system as its core advantage, developed through close collaboration between SAIC Motor and Qingtao Energy.
Positioned as a pure electric compact hatchback, the new model measures 4,395 mm in length, 1,842 mm in width, and 1,551 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, meeting the space needs of daily family commuting. The interior is equipped with a 15.6-inch floating central control screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and the MG×OPPO smart cockpit system, providing an intelligent experience and smooth operation. Regarding power and range, the car uses a front-mounted single motor with a maximum output of 120 kW and offers a CLTC comprehensive range of up to 530 km to address range anxiety.
