SAIC to set up new-energy auto base in Tangshan

Shanghai, November 26 (Gasgoo.com) China's top automaker SAIC Motor Corp said on Thursday that  it plans to set up a new-energy vehicle production base in northern Chinese city of Tangshan in the conjunction with the local government, reported Reuters.

The report said SAIC has signed a cooperation framework agreement with Tangshan municipal government on the new energy vehicle project and formed a strategic partnership.

The joint venture will first focus on the bus assembly, including electric bus, hybrid bus as well as traditional bus. They are also expected to expand to other types of vehicles in accordance to the market demand mainly of Tangshan, the whole Hebei province and even the north market of China.
