SAIC Volkswagen’s First Teramont off the Assembly Line

Teramont, a brand new medium-and-large-scale SUV based on SAIC Volkswagen’s MQB platform, has had its first vehicle come off the assembly line recently. It is the first medium-and-large-scale SUV produced by SAIC Volkswagen and was named Teramont on Guangdong Auto Show. It will be officially listed in March or April next year.

Teramont is positioned between Tiguan and Touareg with a length of 5039mm, a width of 1989mm and a height of 1773mm, and its wheelbase is 2980mm——all of the sizes transcend Touareg.

As for appearance, the car adopts the designing philosophy of CrossBlue Concept. It has a strong sense of designing with its double amplitude chrome plated stripe of front grille directly connected to the inside of the headlamp.

The new car seems to have a very strong overall look. Since focusing on seven-seat SUV market, it will be easier to put into good use with a large body.

The interior designing of Teramont continues with that of the CrossBlue Concept, with straight lines widely applied to form a vision of concise.

In aspect of configuration, the car is equipped with a large-sized multimedia displayer, a three radial multi-function steering wheel with brand new style, a wireless charging system and a three district automatic air condition with rear diffusers.

The flagship version of Teramont will carry a 2.5T engine, which has a torque of up to 500Nm and whose parameters exceed the 3.0T V6 engine equipped in Phideon, and a DQ5007 quick-wet dual-clutch transmission. The flagship SUV will also be equipped with a DCC dynamic hanger bracket and a 4 Motion all-wheel driving system, providing selections of 8 driving patterns. What’s more, the version with 2.0TSI high/low power engines will be the main allocated vehicles for sales.
