Seeds | Beijing Humanoid Completes First Round of Market Financing Exceeding 700 Million Yuan

Edited by Yara From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- Gasgoo learned on February 3 that the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center recently closed its first round of market financing totaling over 700 million yuan. The round drew in prominent investors, including the Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund, E-Town Capital, and TH Capital, while also securing strategic backing from industry players like Baidu and Kyland Technology.

Proceeds will be funneled primarily into iterating and scaling two core platforms—"Embodied Tiangong" and "Huisi Kaiwu"—to further drive the evolution of embodied intelligent robots toward full autonomy and greater usability.

Established in 2023, the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center was jointly initiated by Jingcheng Machinery Electric Company, Xiaomi, UBTECH, E-Town Robotics, and Shoucheng Capital, with a mission to build a world-class innovation platform for embodied intelligent robots.

In October 2024, the center was designated as the "National-Local Joint Embodied Intelligent Robot Innovation Center," solidifying its pivotal role within the country's science and technology framework.

On the technology front, Beijing Humanoid has notched a series of milestones. In April 2025, the center's "Tiangong Ultra" robot autonomously completed a 21.0975-kilometer half-marathon in 2 hours, 40 minutes, and 42 seconds, claiming the world's first humanoid robot half-marathon title. Later that August, at the World Humanoid Robot Games, the center's self-developed Tiangong Ultra and Tianyi 2.0 robots secured a haul of 2 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Notably, Tiangong Ultra claimed the 100-meter sprint final with a fully autonomous time of 21.50 seconds, becoming the fastest humanoid sprinter in history. Meanwhile, Tianyi 2.0—powered by the "Huisi Kaiwu" platform—demonstrated strong versatility and autonomy, sweeping the top two spots in the material sorting competition.
