Remarkably, self-developed passenger vehicles had gained market share of more than 29% in China, only a difference of 2 percentage points compared to the record high of 31%, among which MPVs had occupied 46.73% in domestic market. Besides SUVs and luxury cars, the market share of other types of self-developed passenger vehicles have also been rising rapidly this year.
According to statistics from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in the first four months of 2008, Japanese brands led the domestic car market with a dominant market share of 29.28%, followed by Chinese self-developed brands (such as Chery, Geely, Changan, etc) holding a combined share of 25.45% and German brands taking up 21.47%.
