Volkswagen and Nissan have invested into low-end products development which price behind 50 thousand CNY. Toyota, which is just back to the sales champion of the world, has declared that the company does not have any above schedule.
DONG Changzheng, vice executive general manager of Toyota(CHINA) tells reporter during interview confirmed that “Toyota does not have any schedule to introduce any new cars which level behind Vios.”As for its opponents Volkswagen and Nissan market share change with their low-end cars market launching, DONG Changzheng says “Toyota pays more attention on vehicle safety. Besides, our strategy prefer balance, will not take risks.”
Last week, Winterkorn, president of Volkswagen Group Management, says “Volkswagen car delivery around the world will exceed 10 million this year. It is four years ahead our schedule.”It means that sales champion battle between Volkswagen and Toyota has stepped it new round. Year 2013, Volkswagen fails Toyota just will tiny volume, which is ranked next Toyota among others.
Volkswagen does not find its advantages on traditional market. Therefore, the company has its eyesight onto low-end auto segment.
Jochem Heizmann, president and CEO of Volkswagen (China) says thatlow-end car development focuses on Chinese market. Volkswagen will cooperate with FAW to build their low-end products and with a total new brand. Its price is around 5 to 10 thousandeuros, which equal to 40 to 80 thousand CNY. It aims 500 thousand cars sales in China, and the car will marketlaunching in year 2015.
As the biggest auto consume market, Chinese market is taken as one of the most important factors influencing market performance of international auto companies. It will influence company sales rank as well. Therefore, low-end cars development is concerned about battle between Volkswagen and Toyota sales ranks. From the perspective of international auto companies, low-end product or even new brand introducing will take more market share, but will not influence their reputation with new brand.
Last week, REN Yong, vice general manager of Dongfeng- Nissan says that the company will introduce a 50 thousand CNY priced new car into China this year. It is expected to load Beijing Auto Exhibition on April at first. Obviously, Nissan engages into low-end segment to take more market share in China.
