Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Feb 16th)— Recently, Chrysler China submitted the recall plan to AQSIQ for file, including more than 10,000 imported vehicles covering GrandCherokee,Commander and Cherokee under Jeep brand.
Design defects may exist in 2005-2007 GrandCherokeeand 2005-2007 Commander.Chrysler said an outside force, typically the driver's knee, may move ignition key from the Run position. This could cause the engine to stall, reducing braking power and making steering more difficult, as well as possibly disabling frontal airbags and other safety features. The above companies will examine all the affected vehicles and replace relevant parts for free. The recall plan will be carried out on 15th, February, 2016.
Besides, 2014-2015 imported Cherokee manufactured 4th, January, 2013 to 10th, September, 2015 will be recalled from 28th, February, 2016. Defects exist in the Power Liftgate Control Module. Liquid may leak into the Power Liftgate Control Module and result in a high resistance short circuit. A short circuit in the module increases the risk of a fire.Chrysler China will examine all the affected 16,576 vehicles and replace damaged modules for free.
Reporters learn that all the recalled vehicles are imported models. Domestic Cherokee models manufactured at the end of 2015 are not included in the recall list.
