Beijing (Gasgoo)- Shanghai-based fabless design firm Thinktech recently announced the successful completion of a new funding round following its strategic investment phase.

Thinktech revealed its comprehensive plan to embark on the mass production of high-performance vehicle microcontroller unit (MCU) products, thereby addressing a significant gap in China’s high-performance vehicle control chip sector.
With a total of five funding rounds under its belt, Thinktech has garnered support from multiple notable investors including SAIC Motor, GAC Group, FG Venture, Volcanics Ventures, and others. Notably, SAIC Motor has actively participated in multiple funding rounds via its wholly-owned subsidiary.
Established in July 2017, Thinktech positions itself as a chip design company providing holistic semiconductor solutions tailored for the automotive industry. The company's current product portfolio includes the Mizar security chip series, Alioth general-purpose MCU series, and Phecda peripheral device series. These products find application in chassis control, vehicle electronics, intelligent connectivity, and advanced driver assistance systems, catering to a diverse array of automotive electronic demands.
In addition to partnerships with leading Tier 1 suppliers and global automakers, Thinktech also achieved substantial shipment volumes of its production-grade chip products, amounting to millions of units. The company boasts several key certifications, including AEC-Q100 reliability certification, ISO 26262 ASIL D functional safety process certification, national cryptographic information security product certification, and EAL5+ information security evaluation.
