Thus Shanghai becoming a city with the most NEVs around the world, with a quantity of NEVs equal to Norway, the European country with a top-notch amount of NEVs.
According to the newest data of Shanghai’s Vehicle Registration Department, Shanghai has had 45060 NEVs registered in 2016, 102726 NEVs popularized during 2013 to 2016, and becoming the first city to have NEVs broke 100 thousand units.
With NEVs generalized in a large scale, related industry chains developed quickly. According to the latest data of the Statistical Bureau of Shanghai, the output value created by NEVs in Shanghai has been about 11.5 billion yuan, a historical breakthrough of over ten billion yuan and a 29.5% increase year over year, adding to Shanghai’s construction for industry.
The amount of NEVs grew rapidly due to policies like its free registration, multistage purchasing rebates, etc. NEVs accepted easily by Shanghai citizens also because of its green traveling concept.
In April 2016, Shanghai issued Interim Procedures for NEVs Purchasing Encouragement and Usage, having credit system as a pre-condition of NEVs purchasing for the first time.
