Shanghai, July 4 (Gasgoo.com) Volkswagen will launch Polo SUV based on its all-new PQ 25 platform by 2010, and Shanghai Volkswagen will possibly introduce this model after bringing in the PQ25 platform, Beijing Times reported yesterday.

The so-called Polo SUV is reportedly smaller than Tiguan and is based on the Polo PQ25 platform, while the production of Cross Polo based on the PQ 24 platform will be stalled.
The SUV, inheriting lots of exterior designs of Cross Polo, will be equipped with 4MOTION, the four-wheel drive system of Volkswagen, which offers enhanced active safety and driving pleasure.
A number of current Polo models will carry a 1.4L and a 1.6 L TDI diesel engines capable of 56kw, 67kw and 78kw. Gasoline options will include a 1.2L and a 1.4L TSL engines generating an output at between 52kw and 78kw.
