Gasgoo Munich-Gasgoo has learned that Shanghai’s Jiading District is rolling out a second round of car purchase subsidies from Sept. 24 to Oct. 31, 2026. Individual consumers who buy qualifying new passenger vehicles at designated local dealerships will receive a one-time grant based on price tiers, capping at 10,000 yuan per vehicle. The total subsidy pool stands at 60 million yuan and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until depleted.
Applicants must meet several criteria to qualify. The subsidy is limited to individual consumers, and vehicle ownership must be transferred to the buyer before funds are disbursed. Eligible vehicles include new internal combustion engine passenger cars that meet the China VIb emission standards, or new energy vehicles listed in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s catalog. The purchase date—determined by the invoice issued by the designated dealership—must fall within the promotional window.
Regarding registration and filing, new vehicles must be registered and the relevant certificates obtained by Nov. 10, 2026. The application window runs from 10:00 a.m. on Oct. 10 to midnight on Nov. 15, 2026—or until the subsidy pool is exhausted. Eligible owners must submit their requests through online channels such as the "Shanghai Jiading" or "Chexinmeng" WeChat accounts and mobile apps.
Review results will be available within 15 working days of submission. Once approved, the Jiading District Commission of Commerce will process the data and transfer the subsidy in a lump sum to the consumer’s reserved bank account. Additionally, dealerships not included in the initial batch can submit an application form and qualification documents by Sept. 30 to participate, pending approval from the commission.
