Gasgoo Munich- Singapore-based AI robotics firm Sharpa has unveiled a special edition of its debut product, the Sharpa Wave SE, and kicked off pre-orders, according to Gasgoo Embodied Intelligence.
Founded in 2024 by Li Yifan, Xiang Shaoqing, and Sun Kai—the three co-founders of Hesai Technology—Sharpa quickly vaulted into unicorn status in the embodied intelligence sector. The company anchors its global headquarters in Singapore, while its manufacturing and R&D hub sits in Shanghai, China, and its commercial operations base is in Mountain View, California.
The company has already rolled out its flagship Sharpa Wave, with mass production and deliveries slated for October 2025.

Boasting ultra-high performance, the Sharpa Wave integrates human-scale dimensions, 22 active degrees of freedom, and proprietary high-resolution visuo-tactile sensors. Since its debut, it has rapidly become a critical platform for top-tier laboratories exploring next-generation dexterous manipulation. Known partners now include Nvidia, Google, MIT, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Building on that foundation, Sharpa introduced the Sharpa Wave SE to lower the barrier to entry for developers, research institutions, and robotics companies. The goal is to provide access to a dexterous hand that balances top-tier performance with cost-effectiveness. This move aims to lay a new groundwork for large-scale data collection, model training, and complete robot development, accelerating the leap from technical verification to real-world deployment.

Visually, the Sharpa Wave SE ditches the silver finish of its predecessor for a minimalist matte black aesthetic. Yet, it retains the original's humanoid configuration, 22 active degrees of freedom, and tactile capabilities, with configuration optimizations tailored to a broader range of research, development, and system integration needs.
Moreover, the SE version encapsulates valuable engineering experience Sharpa has gathered from real-world projects and extended use. It fully maintains the rigorous standards of stability and reliability that were proven in the original product over time.
