SiEngine, WeRide Form Strategic Partnership

Edited by Aya From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- SiEngine and WeRide officially signed a strategic partnership agreement on April 24, the opening day of the Auto China 2026. Leveraging their deep expertise in automotive-grade chips and autonomous driving technology, the two companies plan to integrate "chip computing power" with "algorithm applications." The goal is to provide core technical support for cost-effective, mass-produced intelligent driving solutions, accelerating the large-scale deployment and global expansion of high-level driver assistance systems.

SiEngine's high-performance automotive chips will serve as a powerful computing foundation for WeRide's full-stack autonomous driving algorithms. Through deep hardware and software co-optimization, the partnership aims to break the reliance on expensive computing platforms for advanced driver assistance. Together, the companies will explore a new paradigm of cabin-driving fusion under a central computing architecture. This approach will promote flexible deployment and rapid iteration of intelligent driving systems across vehicle segments—from entry-level to high-end—democratizing features that were once reserved for flagship models.

WeRide focuses its product portfolio on L4 fully driverless Robotaxis, Robobuses, and L2++ advanced driver assistance solutions, holding the unique distinction of being the only tech company with autonomous driving licenses in eight countries. Currently, WeRide's autonomous products are operational in more than 12 countries and over 40 cities. Its L4 Robotaxis have hit the streets in over 10 core cities globally, with a fleet size exceeding 1,125 vehicles. The company's L2++ one-shot end-to-end ADAS solution, WRD 3.0, has already entered mass production on models such as the Chery Exeed Sterra ES and ET, and the GAC AION N60. Moving forward, WeRide will continue to serve more domestic and international brand customers—including GAC, Chery, Tiggo, and Lepas—through software pre-installation or OTA upgrades.

SiEngine's independently developed "SE1000" smart cockpit chip consistently leads the market among domestic peers. In 2025, it ranked first in installations among domestically made chips for mainstream models priced below 400,000 yuan. Thanks to high integration and superior energy efficiency, it effectively controls system costs while maintaining performance. Also in 2025, SiEngine's high-level driver assistance chip, "AD1000," achieved mass production, capable of meeting diverse needs ranging from L2+ driver assistance to L4 intelligent driving.
