Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 31) - Skoda China's Director of Public Relations Liang Hong has been tipped to join Chery's own brand Qoros, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported today. Shortly after reports began appearing in the media, Ms. Liang made a post on her Weibo account, in which she confirmed the news.
Prior to her joining Skoda China in November 2011, Ms. Liang (pictured) worked as head of public relations of Volvo China. Ms. Liang's departure comes as Skoda embarks on new program to further itself from parent Shanghai Volkswagen.
Ms. Liang's new company, Qoros, was established by Chery and Israel Corporation in November 2011. The joint venture will focus on selling vehicles in Europe and other developed markets. The management team that Ms. Liang will join is made of 16 posts, with several members boasting experience at leading multinational manufacturers such as Volvo, Jaguar Land Rover, BMW and General Motors. Only six of the team will come from China.
