Smart EV 2026 | Shen Shaojie: ZYT Unveils "Native Multimodal Foundation Model"

Gasgoo Munich- At the Smart Electric Vehicle Development High-Level Forum (2026) (Smart EV 2026) on April 11, ZYT CEO Shen Shaojie stated that automotive intelligence is shifting from simple feature upgrades on individual models to a reconstruction of the underlying paradigm. ZYT has mass-produced over 50 models and secured design wins in the triple digits. It pioneered the industry’s first single-chip cockpit-driving integration, achieving parity between internal combustion and electric powertrains, unified cockpit and driving on a single chip, equal excellence in driving and parking, and synchronized development across domestic and international markets.

The newly launched End-to-End 4.0 version boasts a pure end-to-end architecture, balancing efficiency with safety. Updates for passenger models began rolling out in April. Meanwhile, the commercial heavy-duty truck version has partnered with China’s top six commercial vehicle brands, with mass production starting in June. It marks the industry’s first L2+ highway navigation solution for heavy trucks capable of meeting mandatory standards.

Shen Shaojie pointed out that intelligent driving is evolving from small perception models and mid-sized end-to-end systems toward an era of “large models” capable of emergent behavior. ZYT has proposed the concept of “Mobile Physical AI,” centered on a native multimodal foundation model. By leveraging pre-training to inject cross-domain and cross-border knowledge, the model enables Zero-shot knowledge migration—achieving cross-vertical, out-of-the-box deployment and global generalization with minimal data. The model will be deployed to passenger cars and heavy trucks within the year, with trial operations for L4 Robotaxis and unmanned logistics vehicles launching with partners in July. Shen predicts the industry will abandon vertical-specific delivery models within the next two years, forcing smart driving companies to transform into Mobile Physical AI enterprises. ZYT aims to become a critical infrastructure provider in this era, with related products available for experience at the Beijing Auto Show.
