Ssangyong Motor Co., the South Korean unit of China's Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp., said Monday its vehicle sales plunged 82 per cent last month as consumers shied away from the potentially bankrupt automaker.
Ssangyong, which applied for court receivership last month to avoid bankruptcy, sold 1,644 units last month, the company said in a statement.
Domestic sales nosedived 77 per cent to 1,149 units and exports plunged 88 per cent to 495 units, it said.
