SUV is entering a high-growth period
Passenger vehicle registrations reached 1,406,129 units in the third quarter of 2007, a year-on-year growth of 23.9%. In terms of body types, SUV models still led the growth in all segments with a year-on-year increase of 63.7%, while sedan models and hatchback models both maintained steady growth, with 26.2% and 20.3% year-on-year increases respectively.
SUV market thriving
SUV models have shown significant growth this year after suffering a depression last year. In the first three quarters this year, SUV registrations achieved a year-on-year growth of 34.4%, much higher than that of the total passenger vehicle market. The YoY growth of the SUV market soared after the second quarter, even reaching 63.7% in the third quarter.
