Gasgoo Munich-Tesla China updated its official financing policies on October 30, launching a new installment plan called "Tesla Ease". The scheme highlights low down payments, low monthly payments, low final payments, and zero interest — all aimed at lowering the barrier to vehicle ownership.

The Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive, priced at 235,500 yuan, serves as a prime example of the shift. Under the "Tesla Ease" plan, buyers can put down just 39,900 yuan upfront, followed by a balloon payment of 39,900 yuan at the end of the term. Monthly payments for the five-year term cap out at around 2,429 yuan, with zero interest throughout. Alternatively, those opting for the standard five-year, 0% interest plan without a balloon payment will see the minimum down payment cut from 79,900 yuan to 39,900 yuan, with maximum monthly installments of roughly 3,094 yuan.
Tesla also extended limited-time offers, slashing 10,000 yuan off the Model 3's balloon payment and 4,000 yuan off the Model Y's, with details listed on the website's "Current Promotions" page. Notably, Tesla has adjusted its financing policies multiple times this year; in February, it rolled out a package combining seven-year ultra-low interest with five-year, 0% interest options. Data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) shows Tesla's retail sales in China reached 381,100 units in the first nine months of 2026, slipping 11.9% from a year earlier. This latest reduction in down payment requirements is widely viewed by the industry as another round of "disguised price cuts" to spur demand.
