The Netherlands: Green Cars Cheaper
A study carried out by a Dutch consumers association has shown that the owner of a new car which is the most respectful of the environment (class ‘A’ in energy ticket terms) will be better off by 2,400 Euros per year compared to the owner of a vehicle with an average energy ticket and which is seven years old. Some 840 Euros of the claimed saving is in direct fuel costs, and on top of this, the new ‘A’ car will only emit half of the CO2 compared to the older car cited.
