The facility is the first lithium-ion battery electrolyte project inside the Weda Bay park, led by PT Tinci Materials Indonesia. It has a planned annual capacity of 20,000 tons. Once operational, the plant will plug a critical materials gap in the park's battery supply chain while strengthening Tinci's localized supply capabilities across Southeast Asia.
Recently, the Weda Bay park hosted a ceremony marking the start and commercial launch of downstream nickel projects, alongside the first export of EV batteries—attended by Indonesian government officials. As more projects come online, the park's new-energy supply chain ecosystem is steadily rounding into form.
The Indonesia venture is a strategic move for Tinci Materials: getting closer to regional clients and tightening its overseas supply network. Leveraging the park's existing industrial ecosystem, the facility will deepen collaboration with local upstream and downstream partners. It translates Tinci's R&D and manufacturing expertise in electrolytes into on-the-ground service, offering Southeast Asian customers faster deliveries and technical support.
Tinci Materials said it will press ahead with construction and trial-production prep, aiming to serve Southeast Asian demand with high-quality products and localized support. That push further sharpens the company's global manufacturing and service footprint.
