Toyota Motor Corp may look at ways of combining manufacturing operations in North America of Hino Motors Ltd and Isuzu Motors Ltd - two Japan-based truck producers Toyota has close ties with, according to a newspaper report.
The carmaker wants to create "synergies" between the two commercial truck producers, The Wall Street Journal said in a published report on its website Thursday, citing senior executives at Toyota who spoke on condition of anonymity.
A possibility, the executives said, is to combine manufacturing of big medium- and heavy-duty trucks and developing demand for them, the newspaper said.
