According to Taiwan media, Taiwan's OEM chip manufacturers TSMC and UMC have changed their business model and got involved in auto-parts market.
It is said that UMC is going to form a group focusing on auto micro-controller business. TSMC's chip factories have been certificated by BMW and Mercedes Benz.
TSMC and Lianhua electronics refused to give any comments on it.
