A source from Geely disclosed that the Lanzhou, Jinan production bases of Geely have been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC, top economic decision-making body of China), of which Lanzhou plant has finished construction and will start production tomorrow.
To boost production, Geely has began to build auto production bases in Lanzhou, Jinan and Xiangtan early in October 2005, but at the time only Xiangtan base was allowed by NDRC. Earlier this year Geely made another application and now the bases are authorized by the commission. It is said vehicles produced in Lanzhou base will all exported to Russia.
