UBTECH to Build First Overseas Robot Production Base in Almaty

Gasgoo Munich- Kazakhstan President Tokayev met with UBTECH Vice President Zhong Yong in Almaty during the Kazakhstan-China Investment Forum, according to a post on  UBTECH's WeChat account.  Tokayev voiced support for UBTECH to build a manufacturing plant in the city — a facility that will mark its first production base outside China.

Under current plans, the plant will mainly produce robots for the education and service sectors. The two sides also discussed integrating UBTECH technology into the Almaty City project and deploying robotic equipment across mining, oil and gas, and large-scale logistics facilities.

On the education front, the talks explored a structured partnership between UBTECH and Kazakhstan's technical universities and colleges, including the creation of a joint capability center.

UBTECH's overseas expansion is picking up speed. The company recently locked in over 50 million yuan in international orders from clients across Europe, Japan, and South Korea. The deals cover products including the Walker C1 commercial service humanoid and the UWorld U1 ultra-realistic humanoid robot.
