Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Jan. 5, Tencent Robotics X Lab and Unitree Technology Co., Ltd. formed a strategic partnership, aiming to combine their strengths to drive real-world deployments of Unitree robots across tourist attractions, shopping malls and corporate showrooms.
Specifically, the Robotics X Lab will provide planning foundation models and multimodal perception models via SDKs and cloud services. Unitree, together with ecosystem partners, will help roll them out to the company's mainstream robot models for full system integration — and support on-the-ground deliveries across multiple scenarios.

Tairos was jointly unveiled in July 2025 by Tencent Robotics X Lab and Foton Laboratory. Centered on embodied foundation models and related developer tools, it is open to the robotics industry through SDKs and cloud services — bridging the gap between embodied model capabilities and robot hardware to close the loop from complex task breakdown to execution.
The collaboration is already yielding deployments. A Unitree G1 AI guide robot, "Xiao Mo," running the Tairos model, has begun a trial stint as a docent at the Mogao Caves Digital Exhibition Center in Dunhuang, offering wayfinding and interactive explanations of Dunhuang culture to visitors. According to the partners, it is the country's first humanoid AI guide robot powered by an embodied intelligence foundation model to be deployed in a museum-and-culture setting. The project — an industry–academia–research exploration in cultural heritage digitization — was jointly initiated by Dunhuang Academy, Tencent, Unitree Technology and the Shanghai University General Intelligent Robotics Institute in Baoshan.
At the Shanghai global headquarters showroom of Guoling Law Firm, a Unitree G1 robot equipped with the Tairos embodied foundation model serves as a showroom guide, briefing visitors on Guoling's development history.
Beyond the Robotics X Lab, Tencent Cloud HAI and its multi-network aggregation acceleration offerings also underpin the robot applications in this tie-up.
Looking ahead, Tencent Robotics X Lab and Unitree will leverage their core strengths to explore new use cases for robots across culture and tourism, industry and commercial services.
