Under the agreement, the partners will co-develop high-performance IGBT and SiC power modules tailored to Horse Powertrain's proprietary Super Hybrid DHT system. Designed to meet stringent demands for high power output and energy efficiency, these modules aim to bolster the market competitiveness of Geely's hybrid lineup while enhancing synergy across the domestic supply chain for core hybrid components.
Roadmaps call for the technology to be integrated into roughly 10 hybrid models over the next five years. Thanks to a platform-based design, the product line offers strong reusability and is set to expand across Horse's full hybrid platform, enabling both technical replication and cost control.
On the technology front, UNT is introducing advanced SPD packaging for the modules. By integrating current sensors, the approach reduces the physical size of electronic controls while boosting power density. It also cuts system stray inductance by 7 to 8 nH and slashes dynamic losses by 15–20%, alongside improving vibration resistance. Through deep adaptation to Horse's systems, the partnership has achieved simultaneous gains in vehicle power performance and energy efficiency.
The partnership marks another step forward in Horse's drive to localize core hybrid components. Amid the global shift toward new energy and intelligent vehicles, the companies plan to leverage their technical synergy to drive continuous iteration in power semiconductors and hybrid systems — supporting the high-quality, sustainable growth of the new energy vehicle industry.
