Chinese automakers have created a lot of headlines in recent years for unveiling vehicles at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. But those headlines have not reached the average American consumer, according to a survey.
Most U.S. consumers are not aware that Chinese automakers plan to bring their products to the North American markets, according to the survey by Farmington Hills-based Morpace.
Only 28% of consumers surveyed say they have heard about Chinese automakers' intention to enter the U.S. market, and only 12% are willing to consider a Chinese-made vehicle.
