In his response, Mu Jun confirmed an incident on the night of February 25, where a voice command mistakenly deactivated the headlights on a moving Z20. The company immediately finalized a software optimization, which has now been deployed via an over-the-air update. Going forward, headlights can only be turned off manually while the vehicle is in motion, he assured users.
Mu Jun also thanked users for their feedback and oversight, expressing deep regret over the inconvenience. "Safeguarding your travel safety is Lynk & Co's unwavering commitment," he added.
Public information reveals the Z20 is a pure electric compact SUV built on Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), launched in late 2024. The model measures 4,460 × 1,845 × 1,573 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,755 mm. Visually, it inherits the design language of Lynk & Co's The Next Day concept car, incorporating a new "air efficiency" principle.
On the smart technology front, the vehicle runs on the LYNK Flyme Auto system. It comes standard with L2-level driver assistance, featuring full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and automated lane changing. Higher trims offer additional features like a 540-degree panoramic view and remote parking capabilities.
In terms of performance, the Z20 carries forward Lynk & Co's racing DNA. It is the first in its class to feature a 250 kW rear-mounted oil-cooled motor, accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. The 80-to-120 km/h sprint takes just 3 seconds. For charging, the Golden Brick Battery supports 4.5C flash charging technology—adding 370+ km of range in just 15 minutes (charging from 10% to 80%), or recovering 200 km of range in 8 minutes.
