Recently, Volkswagen import merchant complains a lot about the test of local merchant supplying imported models beginning from September 2013. Some merchants say this test breaks price system and makes their condition even harder. But as reporter knows, most local merchants can only accept booking and doesn’t have inventory at present.
In 2013, the sales volume of Volkswagen imported cars was 80,000, which was lower than 108,000 predicted. To raise the sales volume, Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltdcorporates with Volkswagen sales company in China and agrees on imported cars selling on channels of Shanghai Volkswagen. The reason why this corporation happens is mainly due to the difficulty to establish network for Volkswagen imported cars. Although this corporation was to create win-win situation, but according to the feedback from import merchants and customers, there are still some problems such as stealing away inside Volkswagen group and virulent price competition. The principal from Volkswagen side admits that and says it needs to be improved during the practice.
