Volvo Cars appoints President and CEO of Greater China

Gasgoo Munich-  On May 11, Volvo Cars announced that Yuan Xiaolin is stepping down as President and CEO of Greater China after 16 years with the company. Yuan, who is stepping back from day-to-day operations, plans to devote more time to his family.

Duan Jianjun has been appointed the new President and CEO of Volvo Cars Greater China. He joins the group's global core management and global sales leadership teams and will report to the China Board. The appointment is effective immediately, with Duan taking full charge of end-to-end operations in the region, responsible for the full value chain of industrial and commercial activities (R&D, production, supply, and sales). Yuan Xiaolin will remain for a transition period to ensure a smooth handover.

Yuan joined Volvo Cars in 2010 during Geely's acquisition of the Swedish automaker, leading the deal as the head of M&A. In 2017, he was named Senior Vice President of Volvo Car Group and President and CEO of the Asia-Pacific region, joining the Executive Management Team. He later assumed the role of President and CEO of Greater China.

Duan brings over three decades of automotive experience to the role, having held senior positions at luxury brands including Mercedes-Benz and BMW in China.
