Positioned as a flagship large five-seat SUV, the Voyah Taishan X8 centers on Chinese luxury aesthetics, extending the Taishan design language. The front features a "Soaring Light" grille and DLP intelligent projection headlights that combine welcome sequences, safety alerts, cornering illumination, and camping projection modes. At the rear, "Star River" taillights are integrated with a smart-driving indicator light, providing real-time feedback on the autonomous driving system's status and adding a high-tech touch to the design.

However, the Taishan X8 is slightly smaller than the standard Taishan. It measures 5,200mm long, 2,025mm wide, and 1,814mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,090mm. By comparison, the Taishan measures 5,230mm by 2,025mm by 1,817mm, with a wheelbase of 3,120mm.

Inside, the cabin adopts a "Kunpeng Spreading Wings" wrap-around layout, supporting flexible switching between three-, four-, and five-seat configurations.

On the smart cockpit front, the Taishan X8 features dual 15.6-inch Huawei smart screens, paired with a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 55-inch AR-HUD. Powered by Huawei’s HarmonySpace 5.2, the system enables a rich interactive experience, including three-finger screen swipes and one-click content sharing across displays. A built-in MOLA voice model also elevates interaction, moving beyond simple command recognition to understanding context and subtext.

Notably, the Voyah Taishan X8 marks the debut of Huawei’s dual-screen setup in a production vehicle.

The new model also comes equipped with a 21.4-inch 3K ceiling-mounted screen, a 13-liter intelligent refrigerator, and a 29-speaker VOYAH Sound system, catering to diverse user needs.

Beyond the Harmony cockpit, the Voyah Taishan X8 incorporates Huawei’s Qiankun intelligent driving solution with a four-LiDAR array. Utilizing 34 high-performance sensors—including one main LiDAR, three blind-spot LiDARs, and five 4D millimeter-wave radars—the system achieves omni-directional, 3D fusion perception. The LiDAR setup also supports an upgrade to an 896-line dual-path image-grade unit, further enhancing perception capabilities.

Underpinning the vehicle is Voyah’s Qingyun Platform 2.0, featuring a front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension structure. It is equipped with a three-chamber air suspension and EDC "magic carpet" technology, offering five levels of height adjustment, four stiffness settings, and seven driving modes.

Powertrain options include plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and pure electric (EV) versions. The PHEV variant utilizes the Lanhai intelligent super-hybrid system with an 800V high-voltage dual-motor setup and 5C ultra-fast charging. Fitted with a 65 kWh battery, it delivers a CLTC pure-electric range of 370 km and a combined range of 1,506 km, with a 20% to 80% charge taking just 12 minutes. The EV version, meanwhile, packs a 120 kWh battery for a CLTC range of 727 km.
