WAIC 2026 | Making Breakfast, Selling Goods, Galbot Showcases Multi-Scenario Capabilities

Gasgoo Munich-At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026), Galbot is showcasing a full suite of embodied intelligence solutions built around its general-purpose Galbot G1 and heavy-duty Galbot S1 robots. Spanning everything from interactive services to heavy industrial tasks, the demonstrations map out a complete path for bringing general robots into the physical world.

Leveraging the general-purpose Galbot G1, the company demonstrated real-world applications including breakfast preparation and retail store management.

In the breakfast-making challenge, the G1 handled toasting and beverage pouring despite continuous external interference. Its dual arms worked in alternating coordination, executing the entire sequence smoothly without interruption.

Powering this complex, long-horizon task is Galbot’s proprietary "AstraBrain" embodied intelligence model. Using a pioneering "brain-cerebellum-neural control" architecture, the system fuses multimodal perception, long-term task planning, and real-time execution into a unified framework. This allows the G1 to move beyond mechanically executing preset commands; instead, it mimics human cognitive logic—perceiving, understanding, deciding, and acting simultaneously to navigate dynamic environments autonomously.

For autonomous retail duties, the G1—backed by its dexterous hands and the AstraBrain model—achieved full body-and-hand end-to-end control. Retrieving, delivering, and handing over items were executed in a single, fluid motion.

Notably, these demonstrations are backed by two commercial product solutions Galbot has already deployed in retail settings, marking a preliminary validation of the loop from technology to commercial viability.

In instant retail warehousing and logistics, a smart pharmacy solution developed with partners has been deployed across hundreds of instant retail warehouses in dozens of cities. It enables 24/7 autonomous robot operations, handling medicine retrieval, packing, and dispatch without human intervention.

In smart city services, Galbot has launched the "Galaxy Capsule," a city-level embodied intelligence solution centered on the Galbot G1. Designed as a terminal for smart retail and urban services, it allows for fully autonomous operation and close-range human-robot interaction. To date, the Galaxy Capsule has been installed at over 170 locations across more than 40 cities.

Beyond the G1, the "Xiao Gai" welcome robot—famous for its appearance at the Spring Festival Gala—was also on display, showing off its skill for rolling walnuts in its palm.

"Xiao Gai" combines visual and auditory perception to accurately identify visitors and their intentions, initiating greetings and natural dialogue. Its tone, expressions, and body language flow together, creating a highly human-like interaction. The walnut-rolling feat is powered by the DexNDM dexterous hand world model, which allows the hand to operate entirely autonomously—free from teleoperation—to perform intricate in-hand manipulations like rubbing and flipping.

If the G1 represents the breadth of embodied intelligence, the S1 demonstrates its depth.

The S1 is a heavy-duty robot designed for industrial environments. At the conference, Galbot used the S1 to highlight two key applications: logistics handling and screw tightening.

In the logistics demonstration, the S1 recreated a real industrial workflow: de-palletizing, transporting, and then stacking. Boxes were stacked randomly—varying in position and angle—without the aid of precision fixtures. Guided by the AstraBrain, the S1 relied solely on vision to achieve centimeter-level precision, autonomously identifying and grasping boxes to dismantle the stack with ease. The robot boasts a maximum payload of 50 kilograms per arm.

For screw tightening, the S1 faced screws just a few millimeters thick. Using a high-precision vision system, it identified and located the tiny screws against complex backgrounds, aligned them with the holes, and inserted them securely. Finally, it picked up an electric screwdriver to drive and tighten the screws autonomously.

In real-world factory settings, the Galbot S1 is already operating continuously on CATL production lines, running 24/7 for over three months without interruption.

Beyond CATL, Galbot is rapidly expanding its industrial footprint. Automotive manufacturing and components giants—including SAIC, BAIC, Bosch, and Hyundai—have all forged deep partnerships with the company. From EV batteries to vehicle assembly, and from global parts suppliers to international automakers, Galbot is positioning itself as a key player in the embodied intelligence-driven transformation of global smart manufacturing.
