Edited by Greg From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- On Feb. 12, Xiaomi EV announced that its charging map now features more than 1.7 million charging piles — a 66.7% surge from a year earlier. The network spans 2,815 districts and counties nationwide, including stations in 7,822 service areas. It comprises over 170,000 ultra-fast chargers and more than 1.1 million DC fast-charging piles.

Xiaomi EV is accelerating its push to build out its charging infrastructure. In December 2024, the company formed a partnership with NIO, XPENG, and Li Auto to integrate their charging networks.

That deal brought more than 14,000 NIO chargers, over 9,000 from XPENG, and upwards of 6,000 from Li Auto onto Xiaomi’s map, allowing users to view real-time data. Still, there are nuances in access. While XPENG stations support plug-and-charge functionality, only a select number of Li Auto chargers allow scanning via the Xiaomi EV app.

As for its proprietary network, Xiaomi has made moves but hasn't rolled out aggressively. In March 2024, founder and CEO Lei Jun announced plans to build a supercharging network, starting with cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou using a 600kW liquid-cooling solution.

By August, however, Lei Jun revealed that while some stations were already operational, a mass rollout wasn't in the cards just yet. He argued that China’s existing public charging infrastructure is sufficient. After testing 70,000 public chargers, Xiaomi identified and helped resolve hundreds of compatibility issues. His message was clear: the priority right now is manufacturing, ensuring the Xiaomi SU7 offers the best compatibility and convenience with public chargers.

Beyond public infrastructure, Xiaomi has also rolled out home chargers, available in 7kW and 11kW versions.
